Paid Parking: The Voters Decide

I am against paid parking. Decisions of this magnitude should be decided by the will of the voters. If paid parking does move forward, all revenue must stay in the city and be dedicated to improving existing infrastructure and other city projects that directly benefit residents and not just the down town area!

Waterfront, Marina & Public Space

Protect the waterfront through seawall improvements that address extreme tides and hurricane risks. Do this in phases not with a big bond. With the removal of the building in front of the City Marina, create a public space and sunset viewing area. I support the City taking back management of the Marina, Lets give reduced rates for city residents. Make improvements in phases using grants from the TDC, while working with Nassau County and the State on other funding.

Parks & Public Spaces

Improve our existing parks by upgrading infrastructure, equipment, and accessibility using grants and responsible corporate sponsorships.

Improve our roads and street lighting in all areas, not just the downtown.

Environmental Stewardship

Continue to protect sea turtles, tree canopy, manatees, and North Atlantic right whales. Reduce light pollution citywide through an ordinance that keeps outdoor lighting within property boundaries and prevents light spillover.

Growth & Regional Impacts

With little room for growth on the island, City Commissioners must work closely with Nassau County Commissioners to plan for off-island growth as it impacts our traffic, infrastructure, and services.

Smart Transportation

Work with Nassau County to develop a coordinated transportation shuttle system that reduces congestion, improves access for residents and workers, and helps manage traffic caused by off-island growth—without widening roads or overdevelopment.

City Finances & Trust

Control project costs, prioritize maintenance, protect public access, and restore trust through open government and clear communication.

Commitment

I first came to Fernandina Beach 35 years ago and have lived in my home within the city for the past 24 years, with my wife of 33 years. I’m not a politician, and I’m not looking to climb the ranks of a political party. I’m running because I care deeply about this town and want to help keep Fernandina Beach the great place it is to live.
